Why two endings?
Well, I had never done it before, and almost surely will never do it again. I usually rather like darker endings but when I was writing this story at the beginning of 2009, the ambient was just too depressive, many friends were losing their jobs, well you know the picture, so I felt that I want my story to have a happy ending (more less), to portrait a closing circle that somehow justified the suffering by the final finding of a better destiny for the main character. You know crisis always make us focus on what is important.
After publishing that, My mind was still full of Ideas for a darker, more to my liking ending, so at one point and challenged by a reader I wrote another version of the ending.
Some people think that a story with several endings is cheating and is like trying to please everybody. Well you can think that the darker ending is my choice and would have been in most cases. The original, happy ending was written for an specific time and circumstance, but as it was written and published before, I feel can’t leave it out.
