BEWITCHED: THE DIRECTORS CUT: READ THIS FIRST!!!!
by Amanda Serve
Bewitched: The Directors Cut
The Preface:
This is really my attempt to mature a little in my writing. I've been
influenced by so many new things over the last few years, and have even
branched out into considering and participating in a few bizarre real-life
meetings/situations.
This story is a big departure for me, because for the first part the main
character does not share the same name as me. I guess, that it was easier to
write from my perspective in the past, when I could say what I would do. As
you read, you will see pieces of Samantha that are ME, but really I tried
very hard to give her a separate identity.
I started working on this story with friends that I have met, some of whom
are authors of stories you may like. In respect to them, I will not include
their name(s) here. It's been collaborative, but it's been basically my show
and win or lose with how popular this story is, they should not be affected
by it.
That is why I call it the "Directors Cut". One of my dear friends on here
and I were brain storming on working together on a story. We both wrote a
few chapter (He wrote Chapter Three) or two, before we realized we wanted it
to take a different path, and that many of the things I sought to do
differently in this story, are really trademarks of his stories. So like a
finished movie is never what the director really intended, we decided to
each take the set up and see what we could do with it. I am 100% sure that
if you like "traditional stories" of this kind, you may find the Bewitched
version he writes to be much more entertaining. Mine is more of a journey
and I take some risks with my writing style.
To sum up his feelings about my work, I think he said it best when he said
"I want to make them wealthy and powerful people, and you make them actually
backwards Hillbillies". That might be true, I have a fascination with
"White Trash" having grown up in that sort of household and never even
realizing it, but I guess I also wanted to show in the story a shadowy
organization that reached the halls of academia, the board rooms of
corporate America, and the back woods beer halls and titty joints of
Bugtussle, KY.
Let me tell you how the story may be a little different than others to
PREPARE you.
ONE:
I wrote this to create the immersive quality that the reader was finding
bits and pieces of an "Internet Journal" and along with them notes provided
by an Investigator who follows up with an investigation into this person. I
did this so that you could either identify with the author of the Journal
(Samantha), The Investigator (As sort of a Voyuer), or even one of the many
other characters who I try to bring to life as the story unfolds (Ed, Noceo,
the Librarian, and so on).
TWO:
If you really want you can skip chapters one-three and probably get right
into the "meat" of the story. I never would, because to me it is important
to understand the character of the person writing this "journal". One of the
things I hate about most of these stories, is that it is so convenient that
the woman usually be able to be "disappeared" without roots or being able to
be traced. That she might have a boyfriend, but at the very least she
juggles her new relationship around him with little trouble because they
live in separate apartments. One of the people who helped me with the story
pointed out "Well, if you were going to pick someone to enslave, wouldn't
you take some one without any ties?"
That is true, but most people have some body. They have friends, family,
relatives, something already going on. So I wanted you to feel like she did.
That despite being a single mom, she had more invested in the world than
just her own life, and so this gives her more to protect.
THREE:
Building up her sweet and nurturing personality, makes you feel sorry for
her perhaps, and maybe at the same time wish for her to be "educated".
Depends on your perspective and whether you truly have a cruel streak. Lots
of times I will read a story and the woman is blackmailed because she stole
money from the company or foolishly goes out and has sex with all these
minors or something. That is fine and well and good, but then you kind of
get the justification that she DESERVED WHAT SHE GOT.
Wouldn't it be more wicked to take a nice woman, might even be your neighbor
and then transform her? I would expect men need to feel a little
justification for their cruel streak to handle their concious, and secretly
want her to "learn to love it" so they do not feel so bad. Me, I can't see
how you would have fear and that sense of adrenalin and trepidation I get in
my tummy as I wrote these chapters if Samantha "Loves what is happening to
her" or just goes along with it like a rag doll. Granted, I am pretty clever
and she is sort of painted into a corner in the sense she's got to report
for duty
but she won't "like it".
I guess the bottom line, is I want you to see her as a sweet pink-nosed
bunny rabbit, who threw no fault of her own gets caught and tangled further
and further into a web, while the big bad lion stands there and laughs.
FOUR:
I really did some research on this! The web is great for that. The Rites,
The organizations, the Illumanati, the Tarot Cards, the Witchcraft, the
Ceremony and so on. You may be a fan of the X-files or Millennium, or some
of the great books out there on conspiracies, but have you ever considered
that the entire thing was a front for a sexual slavery ring? Or maybe the
sexual slavery ring is just one part of the organization that supports its
overall goals. I won't be explaining the purposes of the Illuminati in this,
but I will hint and let you decide.
I challenge you as you read this to email me at sherry_85@hotmail.com and
send me some facts that I may have missed or some ideas for the direction of
the story. One thing another author said was "Gosh, it seems you are
writing the "Great American BDSM Novel". Well I might, I mean I hate to try
and "End" the story or encapsulate the entire thing in a short-and-sweet
package like a sit-com.
FIVE:
You will see some Latin names in the story. They are real names; feel free
to look them up. Also Swedish and a few other languages. That is because
this cult is very ancient, like those Vampires in the "Interview with a
vampire" movie. Some of their traditions are in the modern age, but others
date back to the time of Ancient Greece and before. Imagine, if they had
been influencing events and using things like the Bermuda Triangle, The
French Revolution, The Gyspy abductions, Alien Abductions and so on, to help
mask their slave operations?
I think I read once where the man who controls the sex, the pimp (or in this
case the slave trainer) is really the most powerful man in the world.
Because at the end of the day, drug lords, Casino operators, Mafia Bosses,
Presidents and Dictators all need sex.
The names add a little more of a twist to the story, as most of the time you
read the slave was named "Cunt" or just "slave" or something wholly
unimaginative. Why not mix those names with some of their ancient
counterparts? The slave may not even realize until much later that you
decided to name her "goat-ass" until she finds out the translation.
SIX:
The Journal of the Investigator: One thing I took a little flack for, was
trying something new. What I tried to do was change the perspective of the
writing to this Investigator following the case. If you watch some of the
movies I listed at the bottom, usually there is the main story of the
villains, and then the Investigator following along and his substory.
Anyway, some people saw this as a little too unusual.
My goal was to not only add some flavor to the story, but to answer
questions. I found that people would make assumptions or ask "well why would
she do this?" or "What do you mean she wrote this in her own handwriting?".
I wanted to make double sure that everyone understood why her journal was as
it is. I think that if you put yourself in her place, you might be able to
see that there would be times you would not include every suspicion you have
or every doubt in your journal, because she knows that her masters will be
reading these carefully.
SEVEN:
I want to give a nod to things that influence and affected me, as well as
things that I liked in stories. So you may notice that a particular
character from another story makes a "Cameo" in this story. Just a little
vignette or background. If you have something like that you want me to
incorporate, send me a little one or two paragraph idea, with the name of
the movie/story and I will see what I can do!
Before I turn you lose on this story, let me also say the following and give
you a list of influences from movies:
The character is physically based on Samantha, the witch from the show
"Bewitched". As fate would have it she grew up looking like this character.
I know that in my own life, People tend to want to say "Oh, you look like
Madonna" or "Courtney Love" or something. So that's a frame of reference.
The following Movies are highly recommended
"Dance with the Devil" or Perdita Durango: Starring Rosie Perez.
This is sort of the Natural Born Killers for Mexicans. It features a lot of
demonic references and strange plot twists. You might need to watch it a
few times just to see some of the hidden subplots and you get the idea that
as you read my story, that there might be some connection between the
Mexican chapter of the coven and the one in my story (which is American).
Dee Snider's StrangeLand: Starring that dude from Twisted Sister
http://us.imdb.com/Title?Strangeland+(1998)
I was really not expecting much from this film. I think a film that you do
not expect much from that really knocks you on your ass is a damn fine film!
Dee plays a sexual deviant who meets women off the internet and then
tortures them. There is a lot more to this than a stalker film though! I
won't ruin it for you by revealing much to you other than three things:
1-At this very moment there is some porn hound or methodical sadist, using
his computer to take images from that film and put them on the web. There
was a LOT to see.
2-The dialogue from this movie is fantastic. I wish I had a transcript. I
liked what he said about sadists "They bore me, so one sided
"
3-The fact that his online name is "Captain Howdy". If you were truly a
master of evil or something, then would you make a giant avatar and get
online and announce you were? No, you would use something like "Captain
Howdy". I think that he wrote this himself, and he must be a genius. I never
would have thought that, until I started thinking about this. It's the
Captain Howdy's who are the deviants, not the ~ETERNAL MASTER OF DARKNESS
(F/TT/GOR/WWDMS)~
Note: I just made up some letters to put at the end of the name, I have no
idea what they mean, but people with names like that in chat rooms always
feel the need to impress you with their letters at the end.
If you want to see a movie that plays a lot like most of the stories you
read in these places, this is the one to get on DVD.
Eyes Wide Shut: Starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman
That movie is really boring to me in many ways. Still no way a story like
this could be done without a comparison. I would say that the mansion scenes
in this movie are a little puzzling on how this was all arranged or why,
unless you factor into the equation some sort of group like the one
described in my story.
I'd like you to see this movie, and fast forward through most of the
dialogue. Keep an eye only on the scenes in the mansion and then the scenes
in the trashier area of town when he goes to the costume parlor. I like the
idea that the group really can be in control of both splendour and filth.
Devil's Advocate: Starring Keanu Reaves
There was not anything "sexual" really about this movie, other than at the
end and a few scenes in the middle. However, the symbolism (count the times
they say something like "oh god" or "Damn it to hell" or some other biblical
reference. That probably influenced me to incorporate a few ways they told
their story into this one.
Dunwich Horror: Starring Sandra Dee
This movie is not really scary by today's standard. It is eerily creepy
because you have to wonder if any one ever did act the way these people did.
However, when I was a little girl I remember seeing this movie and thinking
that it was pretty scary. It was about witchcraft and this nice woman (who
had no ties to anyone or anything) who is tricked into being sacrificed into
a cult. I guess it did two things for me:
1) It planted a seed in my head, that would not sprout until much later in
life about the stories I might like. I just did not realize it at the time.
2) I learned what I did NOT want my story to read like. I think that the
motivations and characters in that story are so unbelievable, and so
esoteric that it's a big turn off. I recently had the chance to watch it
again and thought I would list the movie here.
Well, for now this is all I have to the story. I'd like to ask you to repost
it as best you can on stories site and
Try to include this chapter as well as the photos I will include from time
to time. I will call this posting one, and so if I later update the story
you should recut and copy the entire thing. I've changed dramatically over
the last few weeks the parts of the story, revisiting and massaging them,
adding more "meat" to them.
